Hubies Halloween

‘Hubies Halloween’ is a 2020 Netflix comedy exclusive from Happy Madison Productions. Anytime you see Happy Madison Productions you know Adam Sandler is bringing the whole crew, I love it. It’s like watching ‘American Horror Story’ and seeing what character your favorite actor/actress is playing this season. ‘Hubies Halloween’ stars Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, Jackie Sandler, and the Big man himself Shaq, as per usual as most his movies. Outside the normal crew it also stars Ben Stiller (Dodgeball), Kenan Thompson (Kenan & Kel), Tim Medows (Son of Zorn), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Michael Chiklis (Gotham), and Julie Brown (Modern Family). This cast is loaded.

‘Hubies Halloween’ follows Hubie (Sandler), a man who has been bullied by the entire town his whole life. Nevertheless, he still loves his town and feels it’s his duty to protect its citizens when weird things start happening on Halloween.

‘Hubies Halloween’ is a lighthearted, feel good, Halloween movie, think along the lines of ‘Ernest Scared Stupid’, but mixed with ‘The Warriors’, and ‘Halloween.’ Adam Sandler brings back his ‘Little Nicky’ style voice, which is a little annoying at times, it makes it hard to understand what he’s saying. I find Adam Sandler funnier without the voice, but some people might like it for nostalgia sake. I’m not one of those people. It’s also not as funny as I was hoping it would be, but in the end it pulls it all together, and teaches us to love one another no matter how different we are. I give it a 5.5/10

The Wrong Missy

‘The Wrong Missy’ is Netflix’s new comedy staring David Spade (Joe Dirt), and Lauren Lapkus ( The Big Bang Theory). It’s currently number one in the U.S. for Netflix. Tim (Spade) goes on a blind date with Melissa (Lapkus), Melissa turns out to be beyond crazy and Tim hopes to never see her again. He ends up inviting her to Hawaii by mistake after meeting another Melissa. He texts the blind date by mistake thinking it is the new Melissa and now Tim is stuck in Hawaii on a corporate retreat with the crazy one.

‘The Wrong Missy’ is a Happy Madison production. You know when it’s a Happy Madison production, Adam Sandler is going to bring the whole crew. I love it, I love how he uses pretty much the same actors in all Happy Madison productions. ‘The Wrong Missy’ isn’t any different, other than David Spade it has Nick Swardson, Jackie Sandler, Rob Schneider, Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Loughran, Jared Sandler, and Vanilla Ice. You watch any Adam Sandler film you’re going to see one or several of these guys in it.

The film is a little on the crude side, if you don’t like those type of movies this ones not for you. It’s pretty good, Lauren Lapkus steals the show with her crazy part. She has you saying WTF more than once, it also has its laugh out loud parts. I give it a 6.5/10

Murder Mystery

I’m going to talk about the Netflix movie ‘Murder Mystery’. Now even if you don’t have Netflix I’m sure you have heard of this movie staring Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, and Luke Evans( Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.) That’s an A list cast. It’s Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston’s first movie together since ‘Just Go With It.’ So it’s safe to say a lot of people, including myself, were excited for this movie. With that being said I hate to say it, it’s not a bad movie by any means but, it left me wanting more. Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler do a good job staring beside each other. The movie has a lot of twists and turns that have you guessing the killer up till the very end. It just seemed to lack something and unfortunately the movie is forgettable.
